How this week’s injury report affects our picks

The Carolina Panthers are as healthy as they have been all season (minus the veritably full roster of players on injured reserve). Let’s take a look at how this week’s injuries will affect the Week 10 outlook:

Jonathon Brooks

Brooks is officially active for the first time this season. The highly anticipated 2024 second round pick has been off the field for longer than Dan Morgan intended when he traded up to draft him this spring, but he’s here now. Brooks is widely hoped to be coming in to take the touches that have recently been reserved for Miles Sanders,

Sanders has been a net negative for the offense and, as the trade deadline has passed, has little excuse left to be on the field. Brooks is the last remaining skill player drafted this year to see the field and his success would mark the 2024 draft class as the most successful in years.

Look for him to be involved specifically and sparingly. By that I mean, I don’t expect him to get enough touches to carry your fantasy team but do expect him to but put into positions to succeed. Flashes of competence are all we’re looking for as he gets into game shape.

Ikem Ekwonu

Ickey is still on the injury report with his ankle injury. Brady Christensen has done a decent job filling in at multiple spots across the line, but will now be tasked with facing former teammate Brian Burns in Munich. Burns has, so far, not been having a stellar year opposite another straight up terrible offense.

Everybody else

Most of the remaining injury designations this week were simply rest designations as the team gears up for their longest travel day of the year. The team is as healthy as they have been and look to enter Germany rested and ready.

The bottom line

For once, the Panthers are not more hurt than their opponents. Now, both teams are still terrible at their best and healthiest, but we’ll at least get a reasonably well matched contest this week.
