The NFL investigated Bosa last week, and found a rule violation

Last week, the league looked into fining San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa for any possible rule violations after wearing a MAGA hat during his teammates’ postgame interview after the victory over the Dallas Cowboys. On Saturday, the NFL announced Bosa was fined $11,255 for violating the following rule:

Per the NFL: Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 of the NFL rulebook states that “throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”

Bosa knew a fine was inevitable and told the media in the locker room this past week that it was “worth it.”

Most of the uproar or backlash Bosa faced was because he didn’t expound on why he wore the hat or share his reasoning for supporting Donald Trump when given the opportunity with a microphone in front of his face.

This past week, Bosa told reporters, “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change, so clearly, the nation spoke. We got what we got.”
