NFL Picks Week 2: Surprise, Surprise

Week 1 featured some fantastic games and surprising finishes. Now we set our sights on Week 2 of the 2024 NFL Season.

The New Orleans Saints face the Dallas Cowboys in their first road game of the season. The Saints had an outstanding game last week against Carolina, looking to be at midseason form right out of the gate. With all three phases of the team clicking last week, the Saints and the fans are feeling confident. Now, after facing the worst team in the league, the Saints face a perennial playoff contender in Dallas.

The Cowboys had a very convincing win of their own last week in Cleveland, and they are looking to replicate that success, just as the Saints are. The fact that the Saints finished Week 1 as the highest-scoring team in the NFL came as a surprise to everyone, but don’t be surprised to see the Saints leave Dallas with another win in Week 2.

Thursday, September 12th - Thursday Night Football

Bills(1-0) at Dolphins(1-0)

Having won 11 of their last 12 matchups with Miami, including the last 4 in a row, Buffalo simply has Miami’s number. That continues this week. Buffalo wins 35-17.

Sunday, September 15th - Early Games

Raiders(0-1) at Ravens(0-1)

Baltimore literally lost by less than an inch in Week 1. They won't need that kind of space to win this week against Vegas. Baltimore wins 35-21.

Chargers(1-0) at Panthers(0-1)

A week after getting thoroughly dismantled in New Orleans, Carolina goes home to lick their wounds against Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers, who will continue to smack around the Panthers. Los Angeles wins 31-16.

Buccaneers(1-0) at Lions(1-0)

Back in January, a late Baker Mayfield interception in Detroit ended Tampa’s unlikely path to the NFC title game. That game probably shouldn't have been as close as it was, but the Bucs matched up well with the Lions and they still do here. After a thrilling win in OT last week, the Lions slip up here at home in another nail-biter. Tampa Bay wins 29-26.

Colts(0-1) at Packers(0-1)

Anthony Richardson and Indy get Green Bay at just the right time, as the Packers will lose their second-straight. Indianapolis wins 31-21.

Browns(0-1) at Jaguars(0-1)

After suffering a gut punch in Miami last week, Jacksonville gets a perfect rebound game against reeling Cleveland. Jacksonville wins 30-24.

49ers(1-0) at Vikings(1-0)

Even Justin Jefferson cant provide enough for Minnesota to hang in there with the Niners. San Francisco wins 34-17.

Seahawks(1-0) at Patriots(1-0)

Fresh off the biggest upset of Week 1, New England follows up with another solid performance but falls short in the end against Seattle. Seattle wins 33-27.
