The Eagles moved up to first place in the NFC East.
With the combination of a Philadelphia Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys and a Washington Commanders loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, there’s a new leader in the NFC East.
The Eagles currently lead their division by half of a game since they’re 7-2 and the Commanders are 7-3. With these two teams set to play on Thursday night, we’ll soon see if the Birds either build a cushion or surrender the top spot right back to Washington.
Elsewhere around the conference, it looked like the Eagles might get help in their pursuit for a first-round bye. The Detroit Lions were down 16 points in the third quarter on the road to the Houston Texans ... but ultimately came back to win despite Jared Goff throwing FIVE interceptions.
The Eagles will be hoping that the Lions trip up at some point. Until then, they’ll need to handle their own business to stay in contention for the No. 1 seed.
Here’s a look at the current NFC playoff picture.

3) Atlanta Falcons: 6-4
