Tyre Phillips rejoins the Giants
Offensive lineman Tyre Phillips is returning to the New York Giants for the third time.
Phillips, who suffered a torn quad while playing for the Giants in a Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams last season, was only recently said to be fully healthy and looking for a team.
Phillips will reportedly sign with the Giants’ practice squad after working out for the team on Tuesday.
Phillips, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound 27-year-old, can play every offensive line position except center.
A third-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, Phillips was signed by the Giants after the Ravens let him go prior to the start of the 2022 regular season. He played in 12 games for the Giants that season, starting five at right tackle in place of the injured Evan Neal.
The Giants cut Phillips at the beginning of the 2023 season, and he landed with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. The Giants brought him back midseason, and he played in 10 games with nine starts, again filling in for the injured Neal.
Now that he is healthy, Phillips is back with the Giants.
