Lions score another blowout win vs. Titans, but challenges remain
Pride of Detroit Pride of Detroit

Our Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans recap podcast breaks down the good and the bad—while looking forward to the trade deadline.

The Detroit Lions are, after seven weeks of the NFL, the top of the class of the NFC. They punctuated that with an oddball game at home against the Tennessee Titans, where there were far more return yards on special teams than passing yards. A strange day, a unit mismatch and a whole lot of statements made feel like the epitome of the early season for the 2024 Lions.

You know when you get a game with a lot of social media posts about statistics “not since 1997,” “first time since World War 2” that it’s going to be a good one.

On this week’s edition of the PODcast, we’re breaking down the Titans beatdown. It was an uneven start, but the Lions quickly learned to do what they do best, which is take advantage of a team’s errors and capitalize on short field position. Between takeaways and special teams the Lions were always in range to score and quickly routed the Titans. We have words for the identity of this team and how that all happens.

Plus, we dive into what we expect for the Lions as the trade deadline approaches in a week-plus-change. The Lions at this point have to be buyers, but the question is where the deal will get made and, perhaps, how many reinforcements. We also go in-depth on player performances in this game, the impact of Kalif Raymond and the struggles of Taylor Decker in the past couple of outings.
