The August addition made three appearances in October.

After reaching the NFL limit in standard elevations, Ochaun Mathis has not yet reached the 53-man roster.

The outside linebacker reverted to the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Monday afternoon, per the transaction wire.

Mathis, 25, previously reverted after matchups against the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. His third call-up of October brought four snaps off the defensive edges. The NFL sophomore also saw 18 snaps on special teams on the way to a 25-22 win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

Fellow outside linebacker Joshua Uche became a healthy scratch 90 minutes prior to the AFC East rematch at Gillette Stadium and has since been traded to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. For now, a spot on the 2-6 active roster remains open.

Prior to clearing waivers and arriving in Foxborough in August, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Mathis entered the league with the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round of the 2023 draft at No. 189 overall. He did so after twice earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.

The former transfer from Texas Christian to Nebraska went on to appear in eight games during his rookie season. He played 74 snaps on defense and 19 snaps on special teams over that span, having a hand in a pair of tackles and one quarterback hit.

The Tennessee Titans will host head coach Jerod Mayo’s side next Sunday at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
