Wide receiver Keilahn Harris, who the Pittsburgh Steelers waived/injured on Tuesday, has cleared waivers and reverted to the teamโ€™s injured reserve, according to the NFL Transaction Wire. Harris can be waived off injured reserve with an injury settlement or remain on there until the new league year and rejoin the roster in 2025.

Harrisโ€™ injury remains unclear, but Pittsburgh signed running back Jonathan Ward as the corresponding move. Pittsburgh is not thin at wide receiver with a bevy of new additions throughout the offseason, most recently former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Scotty Miller. Harris had experience with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith a year ago with the Falcons and earned a contract after the team held a massive tryout shortly before the end of the season.

A small-school product at Oklahoma Baptist, Harris posted back-to-back 1000-yard seasons as an All-Conference standout. In 2021, he nabbed 16 touchdowns with the Bison. Harris figured he would work into the rotation of smaller receivers who could return kicks and punts since he had a significant role as a returner in college. He did not play punt returner until 2022 when Harris posted 66 yards on ten punt returns.

The Steelers still have two open roster spots to fill. They will likely look to execute multiple moves before the beginning of training camp but lack depth at any one place as it stands.
