Just look at this:

7 tackles and one TFL in this game. And the stats tell maybe 5% of the story because the guy was blowing up what felt like every third or fourth play at the line of scrimmage. Wrecking shop over and over again. Chris Jones and Dexter Lawrence are probably the best interior defensive linemen in the game today, 1 and 2 in whatever order, but Carter’s not far behind. Cam Heyward? Quinnen Williams? Christian Barmore? Hard to rank those guys, as a sampling. You could make a pretty strong argument that Carter is top 4, top 5 at this very moment. He’s still in his second year, of course, and only 23 years old. The ceiling is already high and if you get this type of performance with more consistency, you’re looking at a perennial Pro Bowler. He’s so good. Is it too early to say that I think he’s gonna be better than Fletcher Cox? No disrespect to Fletch, who’s a legend around here, but Carter just has that look about him.
