The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without its franchise quarterback for at least one more game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without its $275 million quarterback on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Trevor Lawrence missed last week’s game due to a sore shoulder sustained in Week 9, and he’ll be out again this week as the team practices caution with its most important player.

“Trevor will be out,” Doug Pederson said Wednesday. “He’s getting close, but- you guys know how I am with injuries. We don’t want to put a player out there that’s not 100%, so we’re going to rest him one more week.”

Pederson added that whether Lawrence returns after Jacksonville’s Week 12 bye is “a question mark, but I’m optimistic.” He also said there’s a high level of confidence in Mac Jones to continue starting in Lawrence’s absence.

“Every week, it’s a new week,” Jones said, “and you can just take a deep breath and attack each day. So today we’re focused on practice, walkthroughs, meetings and definitely watch the tape and learn from it. That’s the NFL. You’ve got to be ready to play the next week because it’s really a one-week league. So, you’ve just got to change the narrative and be ready.”
