There are two running backs who have been dynamite this season for their respective NFL teams and have made massive impacts while putting up huge numbers.

Derrick Henry, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent during the offseason, is having what could be a season for the ages, while Saquon Barkley, the Philadelphia Eagles’ big acquisition this offseason, is also playing extremely well.

It is rare for a running back, especially nowadays, to win the NFL MVP award, with the last one to do so Adrian Peterson back in 2012.

But Henry and Barkley are among the favorites for Offensive Player of the Year, and NFL insider Jordan Schultz recently named his choice to receiver the honor.

“Saquon Barkley is … three moves ahead of the defense on every single play. He’s, to me, the Offensive Player of the Year, ahead of Derrick Henry right now. He’s been that dominant,” Schultz said on “The Herd.”

With a balanced offensive attack led by Jalen Hurts and two outstanding young cornerbacks, the red-hot #Eagles have emerged as a true threat in the NFC.

Schultz also said that Barkley has helped quarterback Jalen Hurts play better, and while Hurts’ overall passing stats on the season aren’t impressive, he has been very accurate over the past few games and hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 3.

The Eagles are 6-2, and though they’re behind the Washington Commanders for first place in the NFC East, they’re in position to leapfrog Washington and end up winning the division.

The Eagles defense, which was their weakness last season, has greatly improved, and overall they have been a very impressive squad recently.

After playing the struggling Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia will host Washington in what will be a major statement game for both teams.
