A rare treat of a matchup between the Vikings and Colts for TNF!
Football Sunday concludes this evening with an interesting primetime matchup pitting the Indianapolis Colts against the Minnesota Vikings. There was no team hotter through their first five games than the Vikings. Tonight, they’ll try to reclaim some of that swagger tonight.
After starting the season a highly productive 5-0, Minnesota has dropped two straight games and into second place in the NFC North, firmly behind the 7-1 Detroit Lions. The Colts, meanwhile, are 4-4, in second place in the AFC South behind the 6-3 Houston Texans.
The Vikings enter tonight’s game as 5.5-point favorites (-5.5) with FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under point total is set at 47.5.
Can the scrappy and often surprising Colts dig out a win in Minnesota? It’s going to be tough, but there’s renewed hope for a playoff run now that Indianapolis has turned the offense over to veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.
Even though Flacco has the far more accomplished career and a much stronger arm, I’m not sold on the Colts’ ability to stick it to a newly remade Sam Darnold throwing to the likes of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, plus overcoming the Vikings’ aggressive defense.
I’m taking Minnesota to win tonight and for the teams to combine and shatter the O/U point total of 47.5: Vikings 34, Colts 23
