Can Demeco Ryans keep it that way?
Houston Texans head coach Demeco Ryans currently has his defense ranked #2 in the league in yards allowed per game at 280.3. They’re 3rd in total sacks with 27.0, 7th against the pass, 8th in turnovers, and 15th against the run.
In yesterday’s sweep of the Indianapolis Colts, the potency of the Texans’ D was on display:
5 sacks
2 takeaways
10 passes defensed
11/13 (85%) on 3rd down
And only 20 points surrendered, which is below the Baby Horses per game average of 21.9 and H-Town’s of 22.4.
And, unlike the Hail on the Hill that stunned the Chicago Bears in their sudden loss to the Washington Commanders yesterday, the Texans D wasn’t having it against the horses.
While the offense licks its wounds, prays Stefon Diggs isn’t down for the count, hopes Nico Collins can heal faster and wonders if the offensive line will start earning their paychecks. the defense is stepping up.

All names adding money to the stat count. All players who put in the work and make the plays.
Once this team has a game where they put it all together, watch out.
In the meantime, Ryans can lean on the D, and so can we.
