The Denver Broncos aren’t likely to be buyers at the trade deadline with a young developing team, but could they possibly get value for a WR that won’t likely be a long term starter?
Hear me out, Broncos Country. This is just me playing arm-chair general manager and dreaming that a team offers a 2nd round pick for Sutton straight-up. I don’t think it is likely. I don’t know if it is the right move.
But for the long-term future of the team, I don’t see Sutton being a major piece of the puzzle unless he really wants to retire a Bronco and is willing to be cheap with his contracts. I think it is very likely with the cap next year opening up in a big way that the Broncos could cut ties with Sutton either way.
If that’s the status, why not consider getting trade value for him this year? The Broncos are working on developing their young WRs anyway. It may cost them a win or two, but it could bring value over the course of the next few years.
