Winners of five of their last six games, the Denver Broncos seem to be hitting their stride and gaining confidence as each week passes.
Good morning and Happy Halloween, Broncos Country!
No trickery here. It feels good to win and the Denver Broncos have been doing a lot of that lately. And it certainly has been a treat!
They are one of the hottest teams in the National Football League after winning five of their last six games. This weekend’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens is a proverbial fork in the road moment for the franchise. I believe its outcome will have an impact on the identity of the team moving forward. Not only that, but it’ll be also a difference maker in a competitive AFC playoff hunt.
With each victory, the Broncos inch one step closer toward earning that winning culture Head Coach Sean Payton wants to bring back to the Mile High City. And as each week passes, he believes the team is playing more inspired football and with a lot more confidence. Though he still knows there is a lot of work to be done to get to that desired outcome.
“I want them to take on a winning personality. I want them to take on a personality that understands what will win in our league. I say this all the time, ‘Confidence is born only from demonstrated ability’,” stated Paton.
“Now do I feel like we’re a more confident team today in October than we were when we started the season? Absolutely,” Payton added.
The Broncos have a reason to be confident. They sport Top 5 units with respect to defense and special teams. And over the past two games, the young offense led by rookie quarterback Bo Nix is starting to hit their stride.
In a year and a half with Payton at the helm, the Broncos have become a more competitive team than we’ve seen in years past. That’s undeniable. Outside a few exceptions, their losses have been close. And this season? A handful of their victories have been decisive. It’s been a long time since Broncos Country has been able see the team win by double digits. A welcomed sight for sore eyes.
If the Broncos can take care of business on the road against the Ravens, expect the team’s confidence to soar to limits we haven’t seen in ages—perhaps since Super Bowl 50. This team might be young, but they are gelling together nicely and improving each and every week. Could they be on the verge of something special? Only time will tell.
Nevertheless, the excitement is palpable. And just think of how electrifying it will be if they surprise us with a win on Sunday.
