We’ll be providing live score updates, highlights, and injury news for Packers vs. 49ers right here throughout the game.
The San Francisco 49ers (5-5) are on the brink of playoff elimination, as it seems likely that they’ll have to win the NFC West to earn a postseason berth. Currently, the Arizona Cardinals lead the West with a 6-4 record, while the 9ers are in a three-way tie for second at 5-5.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers (7-3) are hoping to keep their slim NFC North chances alive as they continue to be in a good spot to compete for the top two wildcard seeds in the NFC.
The Packers will be out cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee - MCL) and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring), but San Francisco is dealing with far more significant injuries. Not only are running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle not playing at full health, but their offense will also be out their starting quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) and left tackle Trent Williams (ankle). Brandon Allen, who has never started for the 49ers and has a career record of 2-7, will be San Francisco’s signal-caller during this matchup.
On the defensive end, only two starters from the 49ers’ playoff win against the Packers last season remain in a starting role for this game, as defensive end Nick Bosa (hip, obliques) was officially ruled out for this contest on Friday. The loss of Purdy, Williams and Bosa, while receiver Brandon Aiyuk is on the injured reserve and McCaffrey and Kittle are banged up, cannot be understated.

Reports claimed that left tackle Trent Williams’ status was going to be a game-time decision, ultimately coming down to his pre-game workout. Apparently, that didn’t go well for Williams, as he was ruled out when the 49ers announced their inactivies on Sunday.
