The New York Giants (2-6) have opened as 3.5-point underdogs to their NFC East division rivals, the 6-2 Washington Commanders, for their upcoming Week 9 matchup this Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

The over/under opened 43.5 total points and the moneyline is Commanders -185, Giants +150, per BetMGM.

It’s the 24th consecutive game that the Giants have been listed as an underdog — a continuing franchise record.

The Giants are coming off a frustrating 26-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football while the Commanders defeated the Chicago Bears at home, 18-15, on a last-second Hail Mary pass.

The Commanders defeated the Giants, 21-18, in the teams’ first meeting this year in Washington in Week 2. In that game, the Giants went off as a one-point underdog with the O/U at 43.5 points.

Since Brian Daboll took over as head coach, the Giants are 3-1-1 straight up versus the Commanders.

The Giants are 3-5 against the spread this season. Washington is 6-1-1 against the spread.

Six of the Giants’ eight games have gone under while five of the Commanders’ eight games have gone over this season.
