New York Giants news for Monday

Brian Burns sat slumped against the wall next to the locker belonging to Dexter Lawrence, who was in the chair facing that same wall. The two leaders of the New York Giants - both in talent and emotion - were still half-dressed in their uniforms nearly 40 minutes after Sunday’s 27-22 loss to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
Yet this one felt and looked differently afterward, leaving two of the Giants’ franchise cornerstones huddled up in the post-game locker room continuing what has been a month-long search for answers.
Daniel Jones threw his first touchdown pass at home since New Year's Day 2023 against the Indianapolis Colts when the Giants clinched a playoff spot and the MetLife crowd chanted Jones' name.
“Every step of the way there is always something there,” DeVito said. “So overcoming obstacles ... I just keep my head down, work and be ready. Similar situation to last year where you’re the No. 3 [quarterback]. You never know what’s going to happen. Be ready to roll when it’s time to roll. That’s it.”
The Giants head to the land of the Panzerkampfwagen next week for the ultimate tank game. They’ll face the Carolina Panthers, another very bad football team with a matching 2-7 record, with the chance to get the inside track on the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
They should stay out late celebrating Oktoberfest the night before, eat as much bratwurst as humanly possible in the hour before kickoff, and then make sure that all of Deutschland is screaming “nein! nein!” at the prospect of the NFL returning to their country in the future.
