That’s a big break for the Giants
The most important inactive player in Sunday’s New York Giants-Washington Commanders matchup is not a Giant. It is Washington running back Brian Robinson Jr. The Commanders leading rusher will miss the game due to a hamstring injury.
Robinson had a season-high 133 yards rushing on 17 carries in the Commanders’ 21-18 Week 2 victory over the Giants. Robinson worked out prior to the game, but apparently did not feel healthy enough to play.
For the Giants, punter Jamie Gillan will miss a fourth straight game with a left hamstring injury. Matt Haack will punt again.
Wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton (Achilles) will be inactive. Ford-Wheaton is a key special teams contributor. Linebacker Ty Summers, another key special teams contributor who missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, will play.
