Checking in on a few former players, including Davante Adams

Just two years ago, Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams accounted for over 3,100 yards and 26 touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders. However, in Week 7 of the 2024 season, both Jacobs and Adams find themselves as featured players in this week’s former Raider watch.

Josh Jacobs

  • Stats: 12 carries, 76 yards (6.1 ypc), 5 catches, 16 yards, 1 receiving TD
  • Game result: 24-22 Packers win

Heading into the game, Jacobs owned an NFL record with the most career receptions (211) in NFL history without a touchdown catch. But an eight-yard grab midway through the third quarter to give Green Bay a 21-19 lead ended the drought. That combined with his work on the ground played a big factor in the Packers’ walk-off win over the Texans as the Cheeseheads managed to pull within a half-game of the NFC North lead.

Davante Adams

  • Stats: 3 catches, 30 yards
  • Game result: 37-15 Jets lose

One game into his tenure with the 2-5 Jets and Adams is no closer to making the playoffs than he would be with the 2-5 Raiders. He also wasn’t much of a factor with just three catches for 30 yards on nine targets in what was an awful performance for New York’s offense. Adams’ biggest highlight came on an interception, where he laid out and made a touchdown-saving tackle, only for the Steelers to score a touchdown one play later. With Buffalo’s win, New York is three games back in the AFC East which makes winning the division and getting to the AFC Championship significantly less likely.

Jerry Tillery

  • Stats: 4 total tackles, 1 QB hit
  • Game result: 31-29 Vikings lose

This was arguably the best game of the weekend as the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings went back and forth with the Lions spoiling the Vikings’ undefeated season to move into first place in the NFC North. Tillery had a decent outing for Minnesota with a season-high four total tackles. However, he’s been pretty quiet for most of the campaign as that accounts for half of his season total (eight tackles) and he has yet to record a sack.
