Atlanta dips into the United Football League again.

The Atlanta Falcons had an opportunity to spend some time with their 90 man roster between organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, and predictably, they see a need for some change. The team has elected to turn to the spring United Football League to make those roster tweaks, reportedly signing UFL offensive lineman Jaryd Jones-Smith earlier this week and now adding more depth to the defensive line.

That would be defensive tackle Prince Emili, a Pennsylvania product who joined the Buffalo Bills back in 2022 as an undrafted free agent. He spent time with the Bills and Saints before signing with the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL/XFL late in 2023, and the 310 pound lineman had three sacks this past season with the Brahmas as one of their better options.

In Atlanta, Emili will hope to follow in the footsteps of 2023 XFL signing LaCale London, who impressed enough to ultimately end up on the roster and earn playing time before injury took a big bite out of his season. Emili has a much more uphill fight to make this roster and make an impact than London did last year, given the team’s bolstered depth, but certainly there’s precedent for the spring league-to-Falcons pipeline working out.

Give him a warm welcome, and we’ll see if the Falcons are done adding UFL talent or not in the coming days.
