A career high in fantasy points for Kyle Pitts.

The 2024 Atlanta Falcons love facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. About halfway through the season, two of the Falcons’ three most prolific scoring and yardage games have come against the Bucs, as the offense once again carried them to a thrilling last second victory over their rivals from down south.

After failing to score 30 points all of last season, the Birds have reached that threshold three times in the last four games, all against division rivals. In the process, they came away with a crucial victory to move into sole possession of first place in the NFC South.

With such an explosive performance, the fantasy points flowed, as the season trudges along and playoff pushes begin to be made with November right around the corner.

There is a lot of great content available here at The Falcoholic, and I encourage you to check it out if you want some in-depth analysis. This article will look at things strictly from a fantasy football perspective (that means looking at nothing other than pure statistics). Here is Atlanta’s fantasy stud and fantasy dud from Week 8’s victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The highest drafted tight end of all time did all of his damage in the first half, and specifically on two receptions — one was a 36-yard lofter from Kirk Cousins on fourth down which Pitts caught at the 17 before outrunning the final defender. The other was a 49-yard catch and run which was nearly a disaster when Pitts lightly strolled into the end zone right ahead of Antoine Winfield forcing the ball loose from behind.

That disaster was averted upon an inconclusive review, however, and Pitts was on his way to the best TE fantasy performance of the week in standard league scoring, while simultaneously recording the most fantasy points in a single game in his career.

Following a shutout against New Orleans, Pitts has reached at least 65 yards in each of his last four games and is now in the top 5 among all TEs in total points scored this season. Fire up the Florida alum with confidence for the time being.

Dud

Drake London: 4 catches, 34 receiving yards: 3.4 standard league points; 7.4 PPR points

It was a rare bad fantasy performance for London this week, as he took a back seat to Pitts and Darnell Mooney, both of whom recorded a touch over 90 receiving yards in this one.

This was London’s...
