Checking in on some ex-Jets

Now that the bye week is here, it’s time to update you on former New York Jets players and how they are faring with their current teams. We’ll look at offensive players today and defensive players in a day or two. Then we’ll be moving on to look at special teamers in due course.

As ever, this list is intended to be exhaustive, but if we missed anyone, let us know in the comments.

New York Giants:

Guard Greg Van Roten has proven to be a solid addition as he’s started all 10 games and been one of the Giants’ more reliable offensive starters. He’s only given up two sacks and has three penalties.

Also: Tight end Lawrence Cager and offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste were both released, from the practice squad and injured reserve respectively.

Washington Commanders:

Wide receiver Jamison Crowder began the year on the active roster but played in just two games before winding up on injured reserve. He caught one pass for five yards.

Dallas Cowboys:

Running back Dalvin Cook is still on the Cowboys’ practice squad. He played in two games, generating 30 yards on nine touches.

Offensive lineman Chuma Edoga is yet to be activated from injured reserve.

Also: Offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley remains on the practice squad but hasn’t played yet.

Philadelphia Eagles:

Mekhi Becton has been a revelation in the starting right guard role as he’s made 10 starts and been a difference-maker in the run game. He has only two penalties but has given up three sacks.

Tight end EJ Jenkins is still on Philadelphia’s practice squad and actually played in three games, albeit only on special teams. Also, CJ Uzomah signed to the practice squad and played in one game but was only out there for three offensive snaps.

Also: The Eagles re-signed but then released another tight end, Kevin Foelsch, from their practice squad. They did not elevate him for a game.

Green Bay Packers:

Green Bay hasn’t had any former Jets who are offensive players on their team yet this season.

Minnesota Vikings:

Quarterback Sam Darnold is 8-2 as a starter with a quarterback rating of 100 as he is 5th in the NFL with 19 touchdown passes. While Darnold has thrown 10 interceptions and doesn’t have a 300-yard game yet, he’s completed 68 percent of his passes for almost 2,400 yards.

Brett Rypien is also on the roster as the number three quarterback but hasn’t played yet and offensive lineman Dan Feeney has played in seven games off the bench, but only on special teams.

Chicago Bears:

The Bears haven’t used any ex-Jets on offense yet this year but do have offensive lineman Chris Glaser on their practice squad.

Detroit Lions:

Wide receiver Kalif Raymond is once again contributing for the Lions as he has 16 catches for 204 yards and two scores. He also rushed for a first down.
