The Tennessee Titans get a lot value in ESPN’s latest three-round mock draft

ESPN’s Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr. released a new three-round 2024 NFL Mock Draft on Monday morning. That means the Titans entered the projection with just two picks, but a projected trade back netted the Titans a third selection. Beginning with the first round, Kiper sent Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt to the Titans at No. 7.

“Sure, an offensive lineman in back-to-back drafts might be boring for Titans fans, but did you watch Tennessee’s line last season? Alt is my top-ranked tackle, and he could step in on the left side on Day 1,” Kiper wrote.

Alt is the most commonly mocked player to Tennessee. The Titans did host Alt on a pre-draft visit, insinuating they possess some level of legitimate interest in his services. Alt would be plug-and-play as Will Levis’ blindside protector, playing next to another ascending player in left guard Peter Skoronski. That would give offensive line coach Bill Callahan an intriguing left-sided combo to work with.

The real intrigue arrives via the second round, however. Yates projects the Titans trading Nos. 38 and 146 to the New York Giants in exchange for 47 and 70, getting the Titans a third-round pick they don’t currently have. The Giants moved up for Oregon quarterback Bo Nix in this scenario.

The Titans then drafted Penn State pass rusher Adisa Isaac at No. 47.

“Isaac’s production (7.5 sacks last season) and tape are comparable to that of former teammate Chop Robinson. Isaac is a really good player. Tennessee ranked 31st in the league in sacks per dropback last season at 11.1%.”

The Titans have a need opposite Harold Landry III following Denico Autry’s departure in free agency. Arden Key is more of a situational pass rusher. Isaac would give the Titans another athletic threat off the edge.

With the No. 70 pick the Titans acquired from the Giants, Yates has general manager Ran Carthon drafting linebacker Junior Colson from Michigan.

“Speaking on Michigan, how about Colson’s fit with Tennessee? He would add immediate toughness to a Titans defense that lost Azeez Al-Shaair in free agency to Houston.”

Yates captured it perfectly. The Titans have a massive need at inside linebacker after losing Al-Shaair to free agency. Right now, Jack Gibbens, Otis Reese IV, and Kenneth Murray Jr. are the only notable players on the roster. Colson would be a candidate to wear the green dot as Tennessee’s defensive communicator.
