The latest news on Philadelphia and Jacksonville.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 9 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Eagles listed four players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Dallas Goedert, Jalen Carter, Landon Dickerson, and Darius Slay,

Goedert hasn’t played since suffering a hamstring injury early on in Week 6. It looks like he’s on track to miss his third straight game. By not placing Goedert on injured reserve, the Eagles seem to think Goedert might be able to play in Week 10. Even if he’s not available for that game, there’s value in allowing him to practice leading up to that Cowboys game since there’s a tight turnaround to playing the Washington Commanders on Thursday night in Week 11. Even if Goedert was able to play in Week 9, the Eagles are probably taking it cautious against an opponent they should be able to beat without him.

Carter and Dickerson are unexpected inclusions on Wednesday’s report since they did not leave Week 8’s game early due to injury. Perhaps the Eagles are just trying to manage them to help get them to Sunday? We’ll learn more about their playing chances when the Eagles practice again on Thursday afternoon. Tyler Steen notably took first-team left guard reps with Dickerson sitting out.

Slay got banged up in the Eagles’ Week 8 win. It seems like Isaiah Rodgers is poised to start in place of him this weekend.

The Eagles listed one player under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Mekhi Becton

Becton practiced for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 7. He seems poised to return to the starting lineup at right guard in Week 9.

The Eagles listed one player under FULL PARTICIPATION: Albert Okwuegbunam.

The Eagles opened Albert O’s 21-day practice window on October 16. They could look to activate him to the roster to have a third tight end behind Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll while Goedert is out.

One more injury update: Britain Covey was seen doing some rehab work on a side field. He’s eligible to be activated from injured reserve after missing four games ... but the Eagles have not yet opened his 21-day practice window. Maybe they’ll do that next week?

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS INJURY REPORT (WEDNESDAY)

Three Jags players did not practice: starting wide receiver Christian Kirk, starting left guard and Ezra Cleveland, starting right guard Brandon Scherff.

Kirk is out for the season and will be placed on injured reserve. He’s been Trevor Lawrence’s second-most favorite target.

Cleveland and Scherff both got banged up in Week 8. Both of them missing Wednesday’s practice doesn’t seem like a good development for the Jags’ offensive line outlook. Jacksonville already made their blocking worse by [trading starting...
