For The Win For The Win

The vibes are immaculate around the Chicago Bears right now.

After drafting generational quarterback prospect Caleb Williams and gifted receiver Rome Odunze, there are many high hopes for the potential promise of the 2024 season. With Williams, Odunze, and perennial Pro Bowl veteran Keenan Allen in the fold, the Bears’ No. 1 receiver, D.J. Moore, appeared to be in a particularly jovial mood after Thursday’s OTA practice.

And who could blame him?

The best part came when Moore mentioned an apparent race between himself, Allen, and Odunze to get to 1,000 receiving yards first. After a reporter asked whether Moore considered himself “the favorite,” the star playmaker hilariously changed his tone and contorted his face to joke, “There’s no betting going on; you can’t do that.”

This was, of course, in relation to the NFL’s betting policy.

You can find the sequence below starting at 7:24 when Moore begins discussing the competition between himself and the other Bears playmakers:

In the rare case of a confident athlete, Moore actually isn’t betting on himself when it comes to the other talented Bears receivers. Who would’ve thought?
