Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has been ruled out for the remainder of the team’s game against the New England Patriots.

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has left the team’s game against the New England Patriots after a first-quarter injury. He was injured as he was tackled on a 12-yard gain, with the tackle coming on a helmet-to-helmet hit that then resulted in Achane’s head bouncing off the turf along the sideline. He has been diagnosed with a concussion.

He leaves the game with three carries for 18 yards and one reception for a loss of one yard.

Running back Raheem Mostert, who returned to the lineup after two weeks out with a chest injury, assumes the role as workhorse running back in Achane’s absence. Rookie Jaylen Wright will serve as the team’s backup behind Mostert. Jeff Wilson, Jr., was listed as inactive for the game.

The Dolphins trail the Patriots 7-3 in the second quarter. Both teams entered the game 1-3 on the season and in need of a spark. The winner will move up into a tie for second place in the division following the New York Jets’ loss earlier in the day.
