Denver Broncos Wednesday Injury Report

The Denver Broncos are making progress in getting some players back from injury as one of their toughest stretches of the schedule approaches. Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs contains high stakes for the Broncos and their post-season ambitions in a chaotic AFC.

After missing the last two weeks with a thumb injury, veteran safety P.J. Locke returned to practice and was a full participant. Safety Delarrin Turner-Yell was a full participant this week, just one week after returning to the practice field for the first time since tearing his ACL. His 21-day window was opened last week.

Defensive tackle D.J. Jones (knee) was also a full participant.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton acknowledged Locke’s progress on Wednesday.

“He’s feeling good,” Payton said. “He’s doing well.”

Defensively, the Broncos are hopeful he’ll be able to return this Sunday on the backend of the secondary.

Center Luke Wattenberg, who landed on IR four weeks ago with an ankle injury, was also back at practice for the first time, and he was a limited participant. His 21-day has officially opened.

Second-year outside linebacker Drew Sanders returned to the practice field for the first time since he suffered a torn Achilles in April before the NFL Draft, and he was a limited participant, opening his 21-day window.
