The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs have released their final injury reports ahead of their game this Sunday.
The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs have released their final injury reports ahead of their divisional matchup this Sunday. Both teams enter this game fairly healthy overall and only have a few players ruled out for this game.
For the Broncos, the only two players ruled out for the game are linebacker/edge rusher Drew Sanders and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell. Both players remain on the injured reserve and will not be activated off the injured reserve before Sunday’s game. Center Luke Wattenberg also remains on the injured reserve but he is listed as questionable so he has a shot to be activated off this list by Sunday’s game. Second-year center Alex Forsyth has played well while filling in for him so we shall see how that shakes out if/when he is activated to the active roster.
Outside of that, the Broncos are fairly healthy. They are getting back safety P.J. Locke who has missed the past few games due to a broken thumb. He will be good to go this Sunday, but, he will have a cast on his hand to protect the injury according to head coach Sean Payton. Safety Devon Key has been his replacement but has struggled so getting Locke back should help the Broncos secondary.

The Chiefs also come into this game fairly healthy. The only player they have ruled out is veteran wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Outside of that, defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton is listed as questionable with a knee injury.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is on the injury report with an ankle injury but he was a full participant all week. He suffered the injury in the second half of the game vs. the Bucs on Monday Night Football and while it looked serious at first, Mahomes did not miss a snap and finished the game. It will be something to monitor during the game but it appears that he will be okay for the game.
