The New Yorks Jets made a move to reunite wide receiver Davante Adams with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The New York Jets made the expected move of reuniting wide receiver Davante Adams with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Tuesday. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets have acquired Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, sending back a conditional third-round draft pick that could escalate into a second-round selection.

Rodgers, who joined the Jets in 2023, was the Green Bay Packers quarterback from 2005 through 2022. Adams was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft and remained with the team through the 2021 season. Over the eight seasons together in Green Bay, Adams caught 687 passes for 8,427 yards and 76 touchdowns from Rodgers, according to Pro Football Focus.

Earlier this month, Adams requested a trade from the Raiders, with his top goal to play with Rodgers in New York. Two weeks later, the trade materialized.

The Jets fell to 2-4 on the season with a Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills last night. They are 16th in the league in passing offense, averaging 217.2 yards per game. The are 23rd in scoring offense, averaging 18.8 points per game.

The Miami Dolphins face the Jets in Week 14 at Hard Rock Stadium, then head to MetLife Stadium for the away half of the annual home-and-home series between the AFC East rivals in Week 18.
