Several former Cowboys players followed Dan Quinn to Washington in the offseason.
The Dallas Cowboys hit the road this week to take on their division rival in the NFC East, the Washington Commanders. There may be a little bit of nostalgia and confusion this week seeing as how there will be familiar faces on opposite sides of the ball, but that only makes this matchup more intriguing.
With Dan Quinn taking over as the head coach of the Commanders this offseason, quite a few former Cowboys players and coaches followed him to Washington. You can bet all of them had this matchup circled on the calendar this year and are probably filling a little bit more energized to square off against some of their former teammates.
Just to refresh your memory, below are some of the former Cowboys that decided to follow Dan Quinn to Washington via free agency this year.
Armstrong followed Quinn to Washington this offseason after spending several seasons with the Cowboys (2018-2023). Dallas' fourth-round pick in 2018 was primarily a backup behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons, but has started 10 games so far this season for the Commanders. To date, he has four QB sacks and 29 total pressures. You can bet he's looking forward to squaring off against some of his former teammates this week.
This will actually be the fourth time Dante Fowler joined Quinn with a different team. First it was with the Florida Gators in college and then it was with the Atlanta Falcons, Cowboys, and now the Commanders in the NFL. In the two seasons they spent together with the Cowboys, Fowler was primarily a backup. In Washington, he has only started four games so far this season, but already has 8.5 QB sacks and a total of 31 pressures.
Biadasz was a fourth-round pick for the Cowboys in 2020 and started a total of 53 games in his four seasons in Dallas. He was a Pro Bowl selection for the 2022 and spent three seasons (2021-2023) together with Quinn before following him to Washington in the offseason. He has started every single game for the Commanders this season at center that has helped solidify their offensive line for rookie QB Jayden Daniels.
Brown was a seventh-round pick for the Cowboys in 2017 and spent two seasons with Quinn on the coaching staff (2021-2022). He then spent one season with the Houston Texans (2023) before rejoining Quinn in Washington. He's started a total of seven games so far this season with the Commanders and has accumulated 26 catches for 355 receiving yards. To date he has only one TD catch, the game-winning Hail Mary (Madhouse in Maryland).
Igbinoghene spent one season with the Cowboys and Quinn in 2023 after being acquired him via trade from the Dolphins in a player swap for CB Kelvin Joseph. He didn't play much during...
