Who’s out today?
The Washington Commanders released their final injury report for today’s game on Friday, and they elevated K Zane Gonzalez and DE Efe Obada from the practice squad yesterday. Washington ruled out four players on Friday, and kicker Austin Seibert was downgraded to out with a hip injury yesterday. That led to Zane Gonzalez being signed to the practice squad and elevated to the active roster for today’s home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Long snapper Tyler Ott was also added to the injury report yesterday with an illness, but he indicated that everything was going to be ok.
Brian Robinson Jr will miss his second game in a row with a hamstring injury. It sounded like he was going to play last week before a pre-game workout showed that he didn’t have the confidence in his leg to play. Head coach Dan Quinn said that he needed that confidence to return to the field which means another week on the sidelines.
Washington was out of practice squad elevations for RB Chris Rodriguez so he was signed to the 53-man roster yesterday. Rookie TE Colson Yankoff(hamstring) was placed on injured reserve to open his spot.
Cornelius Lucas is missing his second-straight game with an ankle injury. He hasn’t practiced since the injury happened against the Carolina Panthers. Rookie LT Brandon Coleman was out for that game with a concussion which resulted in backup Trent Scott getting snaps.
Coleman returned last week to help shut down the New York Giants pass rush. He will get the start again today, and Andrew Wyle, who’s been limited with a shoulder injury, is active for today's game. Trent Scott will ill get the start at RT. Wylie will be available for emergencies with Chris Paul the swing tackle.
Rookie LB Dominique Hampton is still the lone player to be inactive every game.
