This...is going to be something

Well this has been a bit of a strange weekend of no San Francisco 49ers football. The NFC West is...well it’s the NFC West. It was not exactly the weekend we would want. That Seattle Seahawks/Los Angeles Rams game was the things of boredom in the first half until, like, the last minute.

Tonight we finish the Sunday slate with the Indianapolis Colts traveling to face the Minnesota Vikings. The game is in Minnesota which already means the Vikings have an upper hand, as any 49ers fan will tell you (Minnesota is a very difficult place to play).

The big storyline going into this game is the Colts who have benched quarterback Anthony Richardson. Richardson’s play hasn’t been to hot lately, but it seems like the nail in the coffin was him asking to be pulled from the game due to fatigue. Some think he can return in 2025 with more development. I am not so sure on that unless there’s a coaching change. Pulling a quarterback is something you really can’t turn back from. It almost feels like what the 49ers may have had had they rolled with Trey Lance and didn’t have Brock Purdy waiting around.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Vikings favored by 5.5 points. I’m not thrilled by that spread. I do think the Vikings will win this and probably cover but I’m not exactly gung ho about throwing my money there. The over-under of 47.5 points isn’t something I’m too thrilled with either. If you need to bet either of the traditional ones, bet the Vikings despite the point spread.

I am a fan of Vikings running back Aaron Jones getting over 74.5 rushing yards. I think betting the over there is the bet to go.

Let’s hope there’s some excitement here in this game.
