Chargers-Titans Snap Count: D.J. Chark sees 1 snap in 2024 debut
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

Despite being active for the first time in 2024, D.J. Chark played just one snap on Sunday.

The Chargers dispatched the Titans with a combination of stout defense and efficient playmaking that allowed the offense to burn a ton of clock in the second half. Ultimately the game looked a lot closer than it was as Tennessee scored a touchdown in the final minute of garbage time, but don’t let that keep you from cherishing just how consistent this defense has been.

Sunday’s win made them the fourth team in the past 40 years to hold all of their opponents to 21 or less points through their first nine games of the season. That’s quite the turnaround from Brandon Staley’s tenure as head coach from 2021-2023.

At any rate, let’s go ahead and jump into this week’s sna share and see if we can find anything interesting!

Offense

Trey Pipkins was out this week so Jim Harbaugh utilized both Jamaree Salyer and Foster Sarell at right guard. Salyer started the game and Sarell rotated in early on, but Harbaugh ultimately gave Salyer the nod to play the majority of the game, noting that the former “did better” in his eyes.

Quentin Johnston led all wideouts in snaps at 83 percent while Ladd McConkey was second at 78 percent. Palmer was a distant third at 53 percent.

The Chargers utilized a number of their tight ends all day long. Recently promoted Tyler Fisk notched 39 percent of the snap share which was second behing Will Dissly and way ahead of Hayden Hurst (15 percent).

Despite D.J. Chark being active, he saw only one snap on the day.

Defense

Only Daiyan Henley and Derwin James played every snap against the Titans.

With Kristian Fulton out once again, Cam Hart, Tarheeb Still, and Ja’Sir Taylor handled the majority of the snaps at all three cornerback spots. Eli Apple was the team’s fourth corner with nine snaps.

Recently signed edge rusher Caleb Murphy played 10 snaps against his former team.

Morgan Fox led all defensive tackles with 61 percent of the snaps.

Special Teams

Safety AJ Finley did not have his finest day. He had a pair of penalties on special teams coverages that almost gave away a ton of momentum. DiCaprio Bootle has been solid ever since he earned a role on special teams with the Chargers.
