Chargers-Titans Live Game Recap: Bolts welcome Will Levis, Titans into SoFi Stadium
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

The Chargers are welcoming the 2-7 Titans to SoFi Stadium as Tennessee gets back starting quarterback Will Levis after three weeks.

The Chargers (5-3) are back at home this week after playing on the road three times over the past month. Tennessee (2-7) is in town this week and will be welcoming back starting quarterback Will Levis after he has missed the past three weeks with a shoulder injury.

This game pits the NFL’s number one scoring defense in LA against the NFL’s best unit in terms of total defense with the Titans. Despite allowing the least amount of yards on average each week, the Titans still let up 26.6 points per game. While the Chargers may find it difficult to consistently string drives together today, history tells us that points won’t be that hard to come by in this one.

Still, anything can happen on any given Sunday. The Bolts will have to come to play to make sure this one isn’t given away unnecessarily.

Go ahead strap in. Kickoff is right around the corner.

First Quarter

The Titans won the coin toss and chose to defer. The Chargers offense was up first.

Justin Herbert marched the Bolts offense right down the field with a mixture of short and efficient passes combined with a pair of smart scrambles by the quarterback. The Chargers faced a first-and-10 at the Titans 10-yard line but couldn’t manage to break through into the end zone. On second-and-five from the five, Herbert hit tight end Hayden Hurst off of play action but the veteran couldn’t keep his eye on the ball and dropped the pass despite potentially having a chance to run it in. Herbert scrambled on third but was brought down two yards short of the goal line and Cameron Dicker came on to give them an early 3-0 lead.

Will Levis and the Titans responded with a very strong drive of their own. Running back Tony Pollard recorded several big gains and wideout Calvin Ridley capped it all off by beating Ja’Sir Taylor in one-on-one coverage for a 42-yard touchdown to put Tennessee up 7-3.
