Observations and analysis as the Bills pick up three players who can have an impact in 2024

On Friday night, during Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills used their two second-round picks and lone third-round selection to add wide receiver Keon Coleman, safety Cole Bishop, and defensive tackle DeWayne Carter.

WR Keon Coleman the pick at No. 33

The Buffalo Bills finally used the draft to address their wide receiver room, taking contested catch warrior Keon Coleman out of Florida State with the first pick of the second round. While many were turned off by Coleman’s lackluster 40-yard dash time at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine (4.61 seconds), the measurements don’t do justice to Coleman, who has good game speed and is faster than the stats would lead one to believe.

Coleman, listed at 6’4” and 210 pounds, is adept at catching the ball, especially in tight coverage. During his collegiate career, Coleman caught 65 passes for 848 yards with eight touchdowns in two seasons at Michigan State, then added 50 catches for 658 yards and 11 TDs in his lone season at Florida State.
