HC Sean McDermott gave an update on Keon Coleman’s status ahead of Week 10 game at Indianapolis Colts

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott took the podium ahead of the team’s first practice in preparation to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10. As per usual, McDermott began with player injuries, inviting the topic, understanding of its recent significance.

McDermott revealed that Coleman would not practice with the team on Wednesday, noting “So, Keon won’t be out there today. You know, we’ll see where things go and I just — you know Nate communicates with me each day, and we’ll just take it one day at a time and see where things take us there.”

McDermott was asked to clarify whether he sees Coleman’s injury status as day-to-day or week-to-week at this stage. “I think it could be more than just week — more than just this week, but we’ll see. Again, I’ll know more, the evaluation is still ongoing here.”

Interestingly, McDermott wasn’t ready to rule Coleman out for Week 10, stating that was “yet to be determined,” and that he’d update reporters more during his Friday press appearance.

Though not ruling him out for next Sunday at this point can be seen as encouraging, news, it may simply be more gamesmanship on McDermott’s part, unwilling to provide his opponent an early nugget about offensive personnel.

McDermott was asked if he could provide any further clarification about the nature of Coleman’s injury, to which he demurred, stating “He’s not going to be available today and I know he wants to be available. He’s a heck of a competitor. But he’s not available today, and we’ll see where that takes us, as I said, on Friday.”

It sure sounds like the Buffalo Bills will need to adapt to yet another significant hurdle from their receivers room. You can check out the rest of McDermott’s Wednesday press conference in the video embedded below.
