Can the Bills hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season?
The Buffalo Bills are headed back home with an 8-2 record in tow, having cast aside the Indianapolis Colts. Buffalo now turns its attention to the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL’s lone unbeaten team. The teams will meet in Orchard Park, NY for a 4:25 game that’s set to serve as the featured late afternoon game via the NFL on CBS team.
The Bills enter Week 11 as 1.5-point favorites (-1.5) over the Chiefs, with an O/U set at 46.5 points through FanDuel Sportsbook. That’s as close to a pick-em game as it gets in the NFL, especially considering the usual 3-point swing in favor of home teams.
At 9-0, the Chiefs are once again in rarified air and eliciting groans across the spectrum of NFL fan bases. Who’s right on their heels? That would be the Bills, of course.
The undefeated conversations have already begun over at Arrowhead Pride. In fairness, reasonable fans find it best to wait for such talk until after Week 11, and their date with Bills Mafia. If you’re looking for an advantage in picking the Bills based off the opening spread, keep in mind that Buffalo entered Week 9 as 6.5-point home favorites over the Miami Dolphins, ultimately squeaking out a 30-27 win. Entering Week 10, Buffalo was a 4.5-point road favorite over Indianapolis, yet won a messy game convincingly, 30-20.
It appears that recently oddsmakers have found trouble in trying to predict Bills spreads. Considering on-field trends, Buffalo has scored 30 or more points in seven games this season, including the last four in a row. The Bills are riding a five-game winning streak, while the Chiefs have won 15 straight games, including the postseason, and dating back to the 2023 regular season.
Kansas City has looked vulnerable in nearly every game so far, and have only scored 30-plus points once this season — an overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The only numbers that matter regarding KC at this time are 9-0. It’s impressive, to say the least, regardless of how they’ve gone about winning.
This is a big game, for the NFL, for Buffalo, Kansas City, and plenty of other teams looking for some type of leverage in playoff seeding. At the end of the day, the Bills cannot pass the...
