Trade up, trade down, or stay put — what does Brandon Beane have up his sleeve this year?

The 2024 NFL Draft is finally here! The Buffalo Bills hold pick number 28 in Round 1 of tonight’s draft. Will general manager Brandon Beane, who has traded up in the first round of the past two drafts, trade up again? Will he trade up for one of the big three wide receivers? Or will he just move up a couple of spots like he has the past two years?

Trading down is an option, but it takes two to tango. How about staying put for once? The Bills have only done this once during Beane's tenure — that was in 2019 when they drafted defensive tackle Ed Oliver with the ninth overall pick.

2020

  • Traded 2020 first-round pick (22nd overall), 2022 fifth-round pick (155th overall), and 2020 sixth-round pick (201st overall) to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Stefon Diggs and 2020 seventh-round pick (239th overall — Dane Jackson).

2022

  • Traded 2022 first-round pick (25th overall) and 2022 fourth-round pick (130th overall) to the Ravens in exchange for 2022 first-round pick (23rd overall — CB Kaiir Elam). *

2023

  • Traded 2023 first-round pick (27th overall) and 2023 fourth-round pick (130th overall) to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for 2023 first-round pick (25th overall — TE Dalton Kincaid). *
