Can someone put an end to this “perfect” season

The Kansas City Chiefs are becoming the Ric Flair of the 2024 NFL Season. It seems like they are getting ratings by many just because some haters (myself) want to see them get beat. Ric Flair made a career of this in the NWA since people bought tickets to see whatever baby face he went up against beat him senseless. Thing is, Flair usually won after it was all said and done.

The Chiefs just keep rolling despite injuries, roster issues, or whatever else. They are undefeated and are going into a hard stretch of their schedule. Sure they get the Las Vegas Raiders and the Cleveland Browns, but they also get the Denver Broncos twice and the Buffalo Bills. Something has to give.

Either way, we can hope the Tampa Bay Buccaneers start this off right. Unfortunately, the Buccaneers aren’t doing too well. They are on a two-game decline, dropping games to the Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falcons. Tonight Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield will be without both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Losing Evans hurts, but having Godwin out has the Buccaneers in a tough spot with the passing game.

The San Francisco 49ers will be facing the Buccaneers on the short week, so one can hope that the Buccaneers don’t get too frustrated that the 49ers are a get-right opportunity. The 49ers have little room for error to dig out of the hole they put themselves in.

Either way, the Bucs have the Chiefs first, and given the Buccaneers issues, both with injuries and their defense, FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chiefs favored by 9.5 points. That seems like an awful lot. Even for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I think the Chiefs will probably win this (*grumble*) but I would love a 9.5 point spread, so put some money on the Bucaneers. Yes, Mayfield doesn’t have Evans or Godwin, but I’ll still take a 9.5 spread. The Buccaneers have been pretty close in their last four games and I think they can hang in here, even without their wide receivers.

The Over-Under is set at 45.5 points and I’m tempted on the over here. The Bucs defense has been giving up at least 25 points over the last four weeks, and the Chiefs can easily get that amount with the Buccaneers filling things in garbage time.

They also have kicking props and I’ve seen a few suggest Chief’s kicker Harrison Butker over/under of 8.5 points. Three field goals, huh? Ok, I’m in, let’s bet for the over of 8.5 points. Go kickers, go Butker.

And go Buccaneers.
