Nick Chubb’s injury return has been the story all week
The story of the Cleveland Browns season will hopefully be all about RB Nick Chubb and the team overcoming a terrible start to compete for a playoff spot by the end of the season. The second part is highly unlikely but Chubb’s return is right on track.
Week 7, a matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, is usually all about the Battle of Ohio. Not this year. This year, it is all about “Cleveland’s Batman.”
Chubb’s letter to the City of Cleveland was emotional as the Browns prepared for his return. Officially listed as questionable for Sunday on Friday’s injury report, the team announced that they had activated their star running back from the Physically Unable to Perform list.
They also removed his injury designation. Chubb is no longer questionable for the Battle of Ohio.
S Juan Thornhill joined Chubb as being placed back on the team’s 53-man roster.
Chubb’s return is among three keys to a Cleveland victory against the Bengals but tempered expectations are probably helpful. The Georgia native hasn’t seen live action or taken a hit in over a year.
The Browns also elevated WR/KR Jaelon Darden for this week. Darden has been active for two games so far this season for Cleveland including last week when he returned two punts for 26 yards. He also caught the only pass thrown his way for six yards.
Now that Chubb is officially on the Browns roster and does not have an injury designation, what is your excitement level going into Sunday’s game? Share your thoughts in the comment section down below
