Browns get good NFL draft news during their bye week

It feels like so long ago when we were looking at what the Cleveland Browns season could look like if they took down the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. Back to back wins against AFC contenders would have put the Browns just one game out of the playoffs.

Two weeks later, Cleveland is out of the race, traded away DE Za’Darius Smith and have quickly become an afterthought. While everything about the 2025 offseason will depend on QB Deshaun Watson, the 2025 NFL draft has some interesting quarterbacks, even if one we might pass on, that could help.

After their Week 9 loss, the Browns draft position was fifth but nine teams were tied with just two victories. As we noted in our Week 10 rooting guide, Cleveland fans had a lot of teams they were cheering for.

A few came through in Week 10.

With the (2-6) Miami Dolphins up on Monday Night Football, there will be at most six teams entering Week 11 with just two victories. The New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers all got to the three-win mark in Week 10.

The Browns currently sit with the fourth overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft, partially due to the top two picks going to the only 2-8 of the group:

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars
  2. New York Giants
  3. Tennessee Titans
  4. Cleveland Browns
  5. Las Vegas Raiders
  6. Miami Dolphins
  7. New England Patriots
  8. New York Jets
  9. New Orleans Saints
  10. Carolina Panthers

We will have our new mock draft with the current order out soon.
