James Hudson III missed last week’s game and has been out for the first 2 Eagles practices
Another day, another injury for the Cleveland Browns. Sort of.
The Browns injury report for Wednesday’s practice, the first before facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, included 10 players not participating. Along with big names like Myles Garrett, David Njoku, Amari Cooper and others was OL James Hudson III.
Hudson was noted as being out due to a shoulder injury. After starting at left tackle to start the season, Hudson missed the Week 5 loss due to the injury but HC Kevin Stefanski was uncertain if he would go on injured reserve.
With Jedrick Wills back on the field and Jack Conklin likely returning, Cleveland’s roster has to be ready to be without Hudson because the big tackle announced on Instagram that he had successful surgery:
Given the details of the photograph, Hudson will be placed on injured reserve as soon as Friday and will miss at least four weeks but could be out for the season.
With Dawand Jones, Wills and Conklin the only player listed as tackles on the Browns 53-man roster, the team might look to sign Sebastian Gutierrez or Lorenzo Thompson off of the practice squad. Germain Ifedi has experience at tackle but is listed as a guard on Cleveland’s roster.
Do you think it is odd for the Hudson news to be released by the player on Instagram or just normal business in 2024? Does his surgery create more concern for the offensive line or will he just not be missed?
