Denzel Ward was able to return but Dawand Jones now out for the season
In a matchup between two teams going nowhere in the 2024 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints matched up in Week 11. Some interesting fireworks in the first half including some fun highlights for the Browns.
As has been true this year and most of his career, CB Denzel Ward was a part of some of those highlights but also was seen going into the medical tent multiple times during the game.
Following Ward’s fumble recovery, he was seen on the sideline talking to the trainers before going back to the locker room. You can see that play here:
Shortly before halftime, the team announced that Ward was questionable to return with a chest injury.
Ward was back on the field to start the third quarter against the Saints.
On Cleveland's ensuing possession, starting left tackle Dawand Jones went down with a serious ankle injury. An air cast was placed on Jones’ left ankle and carted off the field.
The team deemed Jones as doubtful shortly after he left the field and ruled Jones out at halftime.
After the game, HC Kevin Stefanski informed the media that Jones had a fracture and would miss the rest of the season:
The Browns ruled Jedrick Wills out on Saturday which means Germain Ifedi replaced Jones at left tackle.
Jones’ ability to take over as the left tackle of the future in Cleveland was a key for the team the rest of the year. Now, the Browns will head into the offseason with another unanswered question and a clear need.
We will continue to update you on both injuries as well as any others as the second half goes on
