Injury concerns heading into Week 5 for Browns roster

The Cleveland Browns will head into Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season with the same concern that they’ve had since sometime last year: Injuries. Unlike 2023, the Browns have not been able to overcome injuries leading to some poor performances around the roster.

Against the Washington Commanders, things need to change for HC Kevin Stefanski’s bunch but injuries will not be one of them. While we await the official injury report later this afternoon, including the Commanders part, Stefanski provided updates after practice on Friday on what to expect for Cleveland.

The Browns will be ruling out:

  • RB Nick Chubb - Will not return from the PUP list this week
  • RB Nyheim Hines - Will not return from the NFI list this week
  • LB Jordan Hicks
  • OL James Hudson - Who might go on injured reserve but no decision made as of yet
  • DE Alex Wright - Who will go on injured reserve and is done for the season

Cleveland will also have five questionable players including vital ones on the offense:

  • OL Jack Conklin
  • OL Jed Wills
  • TE David Njoku
  • RB Pierre Strong
  • OL Michael Dunn - Could return from Non-Football Illness list

A lot going on with the roster with that many players potentially going to IR and out along with the questionable players.

We will have the full injury report later today and, maybe most importantly, final decisions on the questionable players 90 minutes before kickoff Sunday in Washington.
