Week 9 will surprisingly see Denzel Ward on the field vs Chargers but JOK heads to injured reserve
The Cleveland Browns welcome in the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season. A surprising matchup where both teams are are not satisfied with the start to their season. The Browns poor start still only has them two games behind the Chargers in the weak AFC playoff race.
Cleveland got a big boost from QB Jameis Winston but there are concerns with the quarterback’s history of throwing interceptions that could squash that excitement.
The Browns Week 8 victory wasn’t all good news as LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah had a significant injury while CB Denzel Ward suffered another concussion.
JOK was ruled out early in the week while Ward surprisingly was listed as questionable on the final injury report for Week 9.
Saturday, Cleveland announced that Owusu-Koramoah was heading to injured reserve but that Ward had cleared concussion protocol and would not have an injury designation heading into the game with Los Angeles.
The team did not provide any further details about JOK’s future but he will at least miss four games this season.
Saturday, the Browns elevated DE Sam Kamara for Sunday versus the Chargers as well.
