What is the outlook for the rest of the season?
Each week during season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
After their loss to the Bengals in Week 7, the Browns’ confidence dipped to 7%, a decrease of 2 percentage points from the previous week. I thought the confidence might be higher with a new quarterback getting ready to start and Nick Chubb being a full-go, but the doom and gloom of being 1-6 probably weighs too heavily. The Browns need to prove themselves again with wins, not just “what ifs.”
The Ravens’ confidence is at 72% after their 5-2 start.
We asked two questions about the Browns this week. The first asked who fans wanted to see at quarterback. We know that Jameis Winston is the guy, and 72% of fans agreed with him being the starter. 28% wanted to see Dorian Thompson-Robinson start. I initially was leaning toward wanting to see DTR a couple weeks ago, but I’m so starving to see more offense and some wins again, that I’ll take the veteran Winston to try to get us that too.
Our other question asked Browns fans what the goal for the season is now. Should they still play to win, or should they tank for the draft? The fan base was pretty split, with 52% wanting them to win, and 48% looking ahead to the draft.
Fans on a national level were asked who they think will cover the spread between the Browns and the Ravens. The Browns are 8.5 point underdogs to the Ravens this Sunday, per FanDuel Sportsbook (they were 9.5 when the poll was conducted). Only 14% of people think Cleveland will cover, while all the bets are going toward the Ravens. It’s a pretty big spread, though — Cleveland can lose by a touchdown and still cover.
