Njoku has been banged up, but this could be his chance to thrive.
The Cleveland Browns are on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season this Sunday, October 13, at 1:00 pm ET. The Browns are 9.5-point underdogs against the Eagles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Here are my favorite player prop bets from the Browns’ perspective in Week 6.
Jalen Hurts has thrown for 278, 183, 311, and 158 yards, coinciding with the Eagles’ wins and losses. Even though I’m predicting the Eagles to win this week, I think Philadelphia’s production will come via the ground game. Cleveland has been bit by the big play, and their defense has a good chance to limit that more this week and keep Hurts under 225 yards.
David Njoku had 44 yards receiving in Week 1, then was out for 3 games with an ankle injury. He returned last week and caught the first pass of the game for 14 yards, before getting hurt again a little later. With Philadelphia’s defense struggling, if Cleveland is going to emphasize improving their offense, then starting with Njoku in the middle of the field is a good idea, especially since it requires less reads to be made by Watson and can be used off of playaction.
The Browns have done a bad job sticking with the run, but even with that, Jerome Ford has 44, 64, 37, 58, and 47 yards rushing this season. That means the over would have hit 4 out of 5 times, and the Eagles are allowing 5.00 YPC (28th in the NFL). Bet on Ford to get the over again.
