Denver Broncos fans think the team will beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday to move to 5-3 on the season.
Well, it is nearly universal. We all think the Denver Broncos will dispatch the Carolina Panthers tomorrow. There were obviously a few Raider fans that snuck into this survey earlier this week, but they should worry about the AFC West cellar where they currently live.
With the Panthers having Andy Dalton out and both starting wide receivers, the Broncos defense should clearly have a field day with Bryce Young and whoever they have left on the roster on offense. The Panthers defense is also plagued by injuries and have been one of the worst units in the league so far, which should give Bo Nix and the offense plenty of opportunities to put up some points this weekend.
If they do all those things and don’t drop an obvious winnable game at home against a bad football team — not a guarantee for Denver in recent seasons — then they should come out of Week 8 with a 5-3 record before heading into a brutal two-game road stretch against the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs to start the month of November.
Back in September, I ran another survey where we all felt they could get through October with a 3-1 record and with a win this Sunday that is exactly where they would be. That should give us all more confidence this team is heading in the right direction.
We’ll have to run the same type of survey next week for November, because the schedule gets a little more interesting next month. For now, let’s just hope they do, in fact, take care of business against the hapless Panthers and come out of October two games above .500.
