The Denver Broncos head into halftime down 24-10 to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Denver Broncos went for on fourth and four to start the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. They got the look they wanted and Bo Nix had Troy Franklin wide open for a touchdown, but over threw him badly.

Lamar Jackson immediately found Zay Flowers wide open in the middle of the field for a 27 yard gain and a face mask penalty added 15 more. After one play, they were nearly in the red zone to score again on the Broncos. The defense would stiffen from there to force a field goal, but the damage was done and the Ravens went up by two scores.

It didn’t take long for the Broncos get back into Ravens territory, but despite living on that side of the field they had zero points to show for it.

That changed on this drive with Bo Nix lighting up the secondary and breaking free for a big run along the way. A defensive pass interference on Courtland Sutton at the goal line set Denver up with a first and goal from the one yard line. The Ravens defense stood up strong on first and second down, then on third and goal from the 2, Nix threw it too high to bring up a fourth down.

A trick play where Nix handed off then Javonte Williams pitched to Courtland Sutton who threw it to Nix for a touchdown pass.

Whatever momentum Denver gained with that trick play was wiped out in short order.

On their next drive, the Broncos were on the verge of going three and out to give the Ravens another chance to put up points before halftime. Instead, Nix hit Courtland Sutton deep for a 33 yard gain into Ravens territory as the clock ticked under 3 minutes in the half.

Nix scrambled for another first down at the two minute warning to set Denver up in the red zone. Two plays later Javonte Williams run up the gut for yet another first down. Denver would be looking to to close the score, but faced with a third and seven with a minute to go Bo Nix scrambled for a touchdown only to have it called back by a Garett Bolles holding call.
